Model files in the GTA III game trilogy go by the extension .dff
. Since GTA IV comes with the new engine it also uses different model formats ending with .WDR, .WDD or .WFT.
Tools and Scripts
The following tools and scripts can be used to import & export (edit) these model files.
- ZModeler 2 – ideal for beginners to 3D modelling
- GTAForums: 3DSMax/Gmax import/export
- GTAGarage: LightWave export
- GTAForums: Dextool – 2dfx export from 3DSMax
