MEd
Map Editor
Current version:0.32 Beta

Type:map editor

MEd is the abbreviated name for "Map Editor" which is a map editing program for GTA 3, GTA VC and GTA SA. It was started in late 2005 by Tonywob, originally for Windows and Apple Macintosh but is now developed solely for Windows platforms. It operates in a similar manner to MooMapper and KEd but will use a more organised interface and has increased editing capabilities.

File Formats

MEd supports GTA 3, GTA VC and GTA SA. It allows the user to create a list of their installs and decide which one to load each time the program starts. The editor supports a large number of file formats in each edition, which are listed below.

  • All .col files used for landscape objects.
  • All .dff files used for landscape objects.
  • All .ide files used for item definitions.
  • All .ipl files used for item placement.
  • All .txd files.
  • gta3.dat
  • gta3.img
