Due to the lack of official modding support from the developers of GTA, Rockstar North, the modding community itself is collecting information about how the game works and how user-created content can be implemented. This is a long and complicated process, but in the recent years most hurdles have been taken and various great mods have been released or are currently being worked on.

By improving and extending our documentation, you can help to keep the GTA modding community alive. A great source of information is the GTAForums Editing Discussion, but most facts are scattered and need a revision.
