Just pointing out that this article is almost entirely covered by carcols.dat - a great example to outline how exactly we should be looking to draw the line between tutorials and documentation. In a way, a tutorial can often be drawn-up in the reader's mind from reading documentation. This problem will only reappear, so I think discussion is in order.
