Since GTA 2 on the PC, Rockstar Games has been releasing Game Patches to fix bugs that weren't noticed or seen before the official release of the game.

Grand Theft Auto 3

GTA3 v1.1 Patch: official patch released by Rockstar Games to fix many small bugs and glitches in the final released of Grand Theft Auto 3. It also made it possible to copy the audio files from the game disc to the player's hard drive. The disc's presence is still required, however.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Vice City Graphic Corruption Fix: official patch released by Rockstar Games to fix Graphic Corruption caused by the game

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "No More Hot Coffee" Patch v1.01: official patch released by Rockstar Games to prevent and remove the "Hot Coffee" modification. The "Hot Coffee" scenes were not intended to be part of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas experience. If your copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PC has been altered by the unauthorized "Hot Coffee" download circulating on the Internet, or if you wish to prevent your version from being so altered, download and install the patch for your version of the game. Also has some minor game bugs fixes too.

Grand Theft Auto IV

ROCKSTAR GAMES SOCIAL CLUB:

• Remove Rockstar Games Social Club application
• Separate RGSC application no longer required to launch game
• Social Club login now occurs during the launch process

SHADOWS:

• A new, less memory-intensive, and better-looking scalable shadow solution has been implemented
• Enhanced Night Shadows added with user-selectable level of detail (replaces Shadow Density)

PERFORMANCE:

• Rendering optimizations have been made to improve performance, particularly when enabling shadows
• User-configurable graphics settings have been added for shadow control
• Improved memory management

MULTIPLAYER:

• Enhanced security to isolate users from cheaters and hackers

EPISODIC CONTENT:

• Provide in-game support to purchase "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" (Not available in Russian/Japanese Versions)

BUG FIXES:

• Vehicle shadows re-enabled between 8pm and 6am
• Fix floating street textures
• Pedestrians in vehicles appear further out from the player to allow for long range sniping
• The Moon has been implemented with simulated lunar phases

TITLE UPDATE 2 FIXES:

• Return of Hot Dog Stands and other props
• Missing hot dog vendors, fences, gates, pylons should be present throughout the world.
• Scrolling signboards
• Activate missing scrolling signboard text (ie. highway signs, Star Junction, Clock Tower Sign)
• ALT-TAB pauses game during cutscenes
• Cutscenes should now pause and resume correctly after an ALT-TAB task switch. Audio remains in sync.

• Added Commandline "-notimefix" which will help some users who are experiencing the fast/slow gameplay issue after patch 1 was applied.
• Fixed a bug that caused some users to experience endless looping audio effects after Patch 1 was applied.
• Benchmark was disabling sounds after Patch 1 was applied, this is now fixed.

CRASH FIXES:

• Unable to load game fixed - For some users, a DOS window would open and close immediately upon Game Launch, GTA IV would never launch.
• Hang on Initial Game Loading Screen fixed - Some users experienced Character Art Loading screens in an endless loop.
• Certain causes of the RESC10 error have been fixed (Alt-Tab, change resolution). If you experience an RESC10 error, you must restart.
• Certain Instances of the "GRAND THEFT AUTO IV has encountered a problem and needs to close" error have been fixed.

VIDEO EDITOR:

• Naming clips is now mandatory on Export

MULTIPLAYER:

• Legitimate players being kicked from Multiplayer matches has been fixed.

GENERAL ADDITIONS / FIXES:

• Wireless 360 controllers not functioning - Triggers were full on/off, fixed.
