- Syntax
- 024C: set_phone [phone handle] message '[string]'
- Parameter
- [phone handle]
- The handle of the phone
- [string]
- GXT string
This opcode turns on the payphone and sets it to the message. The phone rings and exaggerates the movement of the payphone object similar to opcode 0405. When the player stands in front of the phone, a small cutscene is played – the player becomes uncontrollable, widescreen is switched on, the player character performs an animation of picking up the phone, and the message is displayed for a moment. The player character then hangs up the phone, widescreen is switched off, the phone turns off, and the player resumes control.
